Intro
We’re back and in the interest of promoting good habits I’m doing this stupid thing again. Hopefully, with the intention of getting a proper writing habit going again as if I have to do one of these every week then the creative taps might open a wee bit.
Or, more likely, I’ll do like 2 or 3 and then stop as per.
A Small 2022 Wrap Up
If I try to catch up on the stuff I watched etc from last year then this would be stupidly long so lets just do a quick wrap up of the stuff I liked that comes to mind:
Everything Everywhere All At Once was probably the best film I saw at the cinema last year, but I probably had the best time watching Violent Night
I spent a good chunk of last year watching NYPD Blue on Disney+. I had watched it at the time (I think up until the middle of season 6, I think) but my wife hadn’t so I expected us to bounce off. We really didn’t and watched the whole thing, I think wholly down to the sheer acting of Denis Franz. Its not often that an actor has like a decade to work on a character and he did, so at points he was able to convey what would take other actors entire reams of dialogue just via his eyes. It has its ups and downs (it does slump a bit after the original show runner David Milch leaves after season 7) but the quality of the performances remains high which is enough to carry you through
Vampire Survivors, amirite?
Kind of fell of watching AEW towards the end of the year, was it because of all the CM Punk stuff? Maybe, I could still have made time for it but just didn’t which probably says more about me that the product
I nearly bought a retro gaming hand held about 5 times last year but never pulled the trigger thanks to the relentless release schedules; at different times it was going to be a Miyoo Mini then a Retroid Pocket 2+ then a Steam Deck then a Retroid Pocket 3 then a Retroid Pocket 3+ or anything else that popped up in my various feeds
Been reading the odd trade from Jason Aaron’s run on The Avengers and, golly, is it really fun. Big daft superhero nonsense, it’ll probably end up just behind his run on Thor but its still very much from the top drawer
A Plan Is Just a List of Things That Don’t Happen

Try not to mentally collapse when I realise that my eldest is potentially off to uni this year which makes me feel so old I want to collapse into dust
Buy more Transformers to fill the emotional void created by the last item
Outro
Think that’ll do for now, off to see Avatar today so sure we’ll have some words about that next week. Will they be good or bad words? Well, you’ll need to subscribe to find out.
Anyways, bye!
