Speaking of bangers, here’s another (arf). Its a bit too incoherent in places, but remains a cracking musical thanks to the sheer energy of Dick Van Dyke. Honestly, the man’s a beast in film dancing his socks off and just being an amazing screen presence

Two very different takes on effects laden family adventures; one a pure 1950s Harryhausen stop motion spectacular, and the other a modern CG covered Jack Black romp. Which is better? They’re probably about the same although only one has a guy who is an expert on the saxaboom
1330 - Channel 5
Pure Dad Film Gold right here; Tom Cruise shouting he wants the truth, and Harrison Ford shouting that he didn’t kill his wife. What a double bill!
1545 - BBC1
Say what you want, it don’t get much better than this; Nazis, singing nuns and big mountains. Putting it that way it sounds like a daft 80s video nasty (and probably was) but here thanks to some brilliant songs its one of the very best musicals ever made
2300 - Sky Mix
Not sure whats going on here, Chuck was yesterday so clearly whoever typed this up was looking at the wrong wiki page. What should be a banger can’t fulfil its potential due to the death of Bruce during its production but still had a couple of good fights in it, whilst also being a big inspiration to fighting games years later
2330 - Great Action
To be honest, this isn’t a great film but its got of one of the best running down a corridor tracking shots you ever did see!

Pure creepy terror right here, with Donald Sutherland running around Venice being proper scared by a kid in a red jacket.
0130 - Rewind TV
At first I thought this was the 80s Chuck Norris film about him fending off a communist invasion with king fu. But that I saw the (BW) which implies it’s the 50s movie about America being invaded by a thinly disguised Russia. However after the earlier mistake about the Bruce Lee film can those brackets be trusted? So roll the dice if you fancy and see what kind of Commie hating Cold War era film you get. Enjoy!
