Its a trip from the doldrums to the pinnacle today; Planes is a terrible spin off that screams straight to video but that I somehow saw at the cinema. Cars 3 is a significant step up from Cars 2 and is somehow a great re-make of Rocky III. And then you have one of those Julia Donaldson animations that everyone seems to like and that I can take or leave, but its enough to get you to Zootropolis which is one of the very best of modern Disney.
1020 - ITV3

And they keep on coming! Seriously, a lot of these films were made, like a lot of them. A lot.
1500 - 5 Star

Well, here’s a treat; Romancing The Stone was a big smash in the 80s, one of the run of films that established Michael Douglas as a bankable top level film star. The sequel tries to pull the same trick again but, despite The Tough Get Going blaring from the soundtrack, it doesn’t quote get there. Douglas and Turner made for a great pair of leads and their chemistry should be enough to carry you through both films
1500 - Legend

Doug McClure? Oh, this is just pure half term TV this; a cheaply made daft 70s sci-fi film with a bunch of folk drilling to the Earth’s core because why not. Perfect post lunchtime entertainment
1615 - BBC2

We had what is widely considered to be the definitive Poirot earlier in the week, so now you get a chance to see what someone else did with the same role; Ustinov is a different Poirot, really he’s still Ustinov if we’re honest, but this is still a good if overly long version of the story. And probably a bit better than the modern Kenneth Branagh version
